Milwaukee Road Rail Detector cars

What ever happened to the MILW's two rail detector cars? They both worked the entire system and were a two car operation. I believe there were manned by three people each. I can't remember when they were replaced by hyrail type units if ever.

What jogged my memory was the recent trains atricle regarding the CN ex BCR two car train that runs in BC that was built in someones CA back yard.

I realize its been over 30years but maybe some old lines west guys are still around and remember. Thanks.
