I can't remember that connection to the former PE being ever being used, back as far as 1969. There may have been incidental movements, but it is my understanding that this was the PE interchange off of the La Habra branch, before the PE was fully incorporated into the SP, around 1963-64(?).

SP delivered from Taylor to the Junction, until the end of Taylor, and later, I believe from J yard, to interchange cars with the LAJ. Yard cuts came down the UP on the eastside of the river and crossed the ATSF 3rd District main at Hobart on the UP San Pedro branch, which had a switch just south of the LA River that and came into the LAJ yard along the LA River, from the north. Or, from J yard, went across the river from J yard on the direct connection to the UP east bank main, only using the other leg of the wye to continue eat on the UP to Hobart Jct.
