SMART Runs to the Marin County Fair

Last Wednesday SMART made it's second southbound run across the Petaluma River and down the newly reconstructed San Rafael Branch to the Civic Center station to introduce the Marin public to the new DMUs. A number of SMART employees manned the display train, which included some nice maps of the system. On Friday, the train returned north in the 7pm hour after wrapping up a hopefully very successful three day display.

Crossing old Haystack with new Haystack rising. Don't know how many runs they will make across the century old Haystack bridge before it's sent to the scrappers.

Here 102/103 have come around the curve at the south end of old Ignacio station and are now passing the future site of an emergency equipment storage site, recently purchased from the Novato Fire Dept. They split the signals and run through the switch at the south end of the passing section.

Here are pictures of the train coming around the curve in San Rafael near the Civic Center. This is historic second time it has come around this corner.
