Thanks for the news, as always. I had forgotton about the Espee's Cantara Loop Derailment, which occurred 24 years ago today. While the damage to aquatic life was severe, the incident did give rise to a funny though cruel saying : " Where Espee goes -- NOTHING grows !!! "
This derailment did point out a flaw in U.S. Hazardous Materials Regulations, in that, at the time, Metam Sodium was not a regulated substance. Now we have the Dangerous to Aquatic Life placard, commonly called " The Dead Fish Placard ".
