UP East Portland Connector

Construction is progressing on the new East Portland connection from the old SP main to the UP Graham Line. The activity is visible from the approaches to the I-5/I-84 interchange, the MLK Boulevard overpass, and the Eastside Esplanade pedestrian overcrossing.

Crews have excavated the trace of the new connecting track, and have also begun installing track panels where the new track will tie in with the relocated Graham Line ROW.
