The truth is you have to make a stink and be a little obnoxious to influence folks. Not to say make a stupid stink is neccessarily a great strategy. But speaking out and hounding local pols and what not is how you get things done.

So disregard and belittle these bike trail folks at your own peril. As the SCRTC article says, a conversation is being sought. The loud bike advocates are going to be a very loud voice at the table. They have to be countered but also respected for the power that they may be able to wield.
