A note about Robert McFarland
He was just a kid when he made those images, and 1000s more.
At that time he had a Vestpocket Kodak
It used 127 film - that's small, but the lens quality was poor, producing a central circle of adequate sharpness and noticeable falloff to fuzzy.
The images are, however, obviously priceless.
In addition to the work shown, he frequented , well perhaps everywhere in the Bay Area and beyond.
Some of his work includes ferry boats and the White Fleet visit, the Harrison St, shops etc.
AND perhaps his other transportation work will be revealed soon- there were plenty of cable and electric cars to photograph before and after [less many cable lines] the Great Quake.
ANother part of his pix is from ca 1937-1940, done with a graflex or other focal-plane shuttered machine
