On Mark's suggestion, I added a new, more scenic location: Carpenter Road, just west of Cape Horn near Colfax, California.

The page assumes that you are looking at the train from the south side of the tracks.

For anyone who missed my first post on this topic, this web page shows the date and time when a train will have three-quarter (front and side) lighting.
