Cal-Trans Supports new railroad

Because of traffic congestion on I-80 and I-580 out of the Bay Area Cal-Trans wants Humboldt Bay to Nevada Railroad. Plans to consider new interstate as well as paralleling Mad River/Trinity Rover/ Cottonwood Creek/ Battle Creek/ Feather River/ Susan River. Does not need local approval. State already approved such a route years ago but ran out of money. A new Hwy. 299. P,G. and E already has survey work from existing pipeline. Changes will be needed as railroad grades are lower than pipelines.
