It's hard to believe that those UP C40-8 standard cabs are on quickly approaching 30 years of age. I can remember when they were still brand new and how the engineers would feather the horn when passing through a rural crossing. They were nice, tall looking units and probably the best looking that GE ever produced. What type of horn were those UP units initally equipped with when they left the factory?

One afternoon while they were still fairly new, I saw UP 9100 leading the SLOAZ just north of Stockton. Within a day or two I saw 9101 also leading the SLOAZ, out near Thornton.
