A Tacoma Rail train was knocked off the tracks Thursday after it apparently struck a parked BNSF train.

BNSF spokesman Gus Melonas said the collision occurred around 7:20 a.m. at the Port of Tacoma.

Nobody was hurt and there is no impact to the main train line used to move passengers and freight, Melonas said.

The Tacoma Rail switch engine was moving freight when it struck the BNSF train, Melonas said.
