Wrecking Ball Looms For NWP's 1903 Haystack Bridge in Petaluma: 1 Week Left

This is the last week of service for the California Northwestern-built Haystack Bridge in Petaluma. A couple more NWP freights will roll across it this week, hopefully, and then the big and last work window for this present phase of the SMART main construction will begin, which will involve CWR and concrete ties being put in on the a new alignment to the new bridge. While the new rail goes in, the 112 year old Haystack Bridge will be dismantled.

In the photo below taken on Friday, the NWP hauls hoppers for it's feed customers in Petaluma and the third DMU trainset, SMRT 105/106, which will be delivered to the SMART yard in Santa Rosa. It is said to be the last passage of passenger equipment over Haystack Bridge. I wonder when the last actual passenger-bearing train crossed the bridge? There is a nice video of this movement pictured below maybe it's creator will post it.
