Wildfire Near Wishram, Wash.

The Horse Thief Butte wildfire is currently burning near Wishram. Unknown at this time how it is affecting the BNSF Fallbridge Sub, which runs along the north bank of the Columbia River nearby.

Evacuation orders have been issued for the town of Wishram, which is an historic SP&S railroad town. Closure of the Fallbridge Sub would affect the Portland section of Amtrak's Empire Builder, and force BNSF to detour trains (over the UP line on the Oregon side of the Columbia, perhaps, or on the former NP main across Stampede Pass?)
