Well before Sunday breakfast, the Baptist facilities inspectors / maintainers arrived. Later, the first wave filled the parking lot and a few streets. Definitely different from Saturday.

After train watching, crossing thunder, and visiting at Mecca, We headed Northeast thru town to pay homage to CCT. Along the way, we viewed two very well maintained beetle buses and a well used beetle version of the pickup truck lined up by a residence/workshop. Thanks for the related Winterail segment. I had one in the 60s. Great machines.

Then, off to visit CALWA crossing and overnight at Tipton. Very quiet. Found out why the next morning as we headed South on 99. Two crews were replacing the timber ties. Non-freeway status of 99 allowed us to watch one of each type of machine and it's operator. Very educational.

After the night at Camping World, we headed for Tehachapi. No UP trains. BNSF "owned the property" and put on a great show. Even some eastbound "yard cleaners" showed up.

A few days later, we viewed the UP yard / crew change at Bakersfield. Two trains ready to head East. The tie crews had completed their job.
