A man suffered minor injuries after getting hit by a train Wednesday morning, Oct. 7, in Riverside, authorities said.

The man, who appeared to be in his 60s, was walking north on Chicago Avenue at Marlborough Avenue about 6:20 a.m. when the train came, said Riverside police Lt. Chris Wagner.

"It looks like he tried to beat the train," Wagner said.

The train clipped the man, resulting in minor injuries, Wagner said. Paramedics treated the man for a possibly broken shoulder
