Presumably solving this crisis by following FRA guidelines and installing 4-quadrant gates, center pilons on the roads, etc. will lead to other objections. Interestng that some locations (e.g., Hinsdale, Illinois) have more than a 100 METRA and BNSF trains a day ) with homes selling for close to $1 million a block from the tracks and one one is dying of brain seizures from all the noise.
