There are several places you can watch trains on the new connector. There is a truck turn around area at the end of ne 2nd that has a clear view of the track. You can also see the tracks from above on the MLK overpass and from Loyd Blvd next to the convention center. If you are lucky and your timing is perfect, you have a clear shot of the entire connector form I-5 NB. Probably more.
