The State Belt RR makes appearances in this 1949 film, Thieves' Highway.

I watched the preview and it looks to be about a couple that strayed to the wrong side of the law. Plenty of waterfront ruffians and sinister looking characters in this one.

The Embarcadero was a neat-looking place at night. Some views from the film:
