I drove over to Elvas this morning and peeked in briefly, and noticed that there's a new track being built on the Sacramento - Fresno segment of the wye. Way back when (in the early 1990s), I remember there were double tracks on all three legs. Somewhere along the line, some of the tracks were removed, and only the Sacramento - Roseville segment remained double tracked. Is there a need to increase capacity on the Fresno line? Just wondering . . .
