The route to which you are asking, is actually The Milwaukee Road' s abandoned line over St. Paul Pass, now known as The Hiawatha Trail. The bike route is maintained under concession by the Lookout Pass Ski Area, located 5 miles by Interstate 90 to the Northwest. The ski area sits astride the Montana - Idaho state line, and on top of the former Northern Pacific line over Lookout Pass, on their branchline between St. Regis, MT., & Wallace, ID. A trivial point perhaps, except for the fact that both passes had rail lines located over them.
