Chump change...... And, didn't the airport already just do all of the baseline traffic and access work on a similar plan? If this is to be a whole "new" LAUPT volume "terminal" for the HSR, then this is not that much..... Will they spend it "wisely", or is this even a good idea....well....????

Couldn't read the article, as I don't pay for the Times, unless I'm lining cat boxes. But, I can guess....?

Burbank is an "interesting" City. And, then there is all of the politics of the Airport Authority, which brings in a whole new cast of even more interesting characters. Then there is all of the former Lockheed property.... So big plans like these might require bigger money....

Don't get me wrong, it might help to do a "reality check" about how this relates to the more mundane scheme of things in and around Burbank/Bob Hope. The last time I noticed, Burbank still couldn't afford to pay for the bridge from the new Bob Hope Airport rental car garage across the street to the existing Metrolink Station which would connect to the skyway they built to the terminals. And, they held an "official groundbreaking" (complete with cookies) for a new Metrolink Station on the Lancaster line, which would appear to have no funding, or date for construction...? You could probably build that pedestrian overpass for about $800,000, though...?

I would suspect that maybe this is probably CAHSRA money to guarantee consultant full employment. And, now is the time to spend it, apparently because the half assed idea of terminating the HSR at Burbank Airport has now taken on a "Frankensteinian" life of its own.......

I am missing out on a presentation on LAUPT tonight, to get ready to pick up my GF's grand kids tomorrow, so at least my post retirement priorities are straight.
