I've heard Caltrain is reluctant to accommodate specials although I'm sure they could make a track available at 4th and Townsend for UP on the weekend. Also no more Mission Bay Y they'd have to turn train at Redwood City.
They could deadhead back to Oakland after dropping off passengers or even go south towards Gilroy to store the train until it's time to pick people up
