In the 1960's and early 1970's every day 7 days a week train #75 left Eureka southbound with well over a 100 loads of lumber. There were seven SD-7s or SD-9s leading. It was indeed an impressive sight. If it was on time it would meet the Redwood with SP #10 the Budd car at Alton. Also during this time period five days a week Pacific Lumber would run their log train from Scotia to Carlotta roundtrip. It was powered by an immaculate black and orange Baldwin.
