I wouldn't be surprised if my Father was called out to help clean up this wreck. He was Foreman of SP Welding Gang # 23 System and was in the general area at the time of this wreck. He was involved with the horrible wreck of the "OWL" and SP 2479 South of Fresno.
By the way, a political plug: His films of his life in the Tehachapi's headline Greg Scholl's video "SP STEAM VARIETIES"...
