I'm not aware of any videos of the BHP Nevada Rail in operation. Considering they maxed out at about 10 miles per hour on that run...staying awake through a typical runby would be a major achievement.

BHP is no longer involved in the Ely area, a few years after shuttering both the railroad and the mines in 1999 they sold out to Quadra, who reopened the mines. The various entities involved with the Nevada Northern museum now own the old NN main to Cobre, the trackage in the mine is almost certainly held by Quadra. Quadra trucks their ore to a reload in Wendover.

Looks on the tracks south of Shafter can be somewhat deceiving, it looks good from the air because (1) the imagery dates from October 2013, and (2) S&S Shortline Leasing had only a year or so before that removed the brush and run a few track machines over the line to straighten and level the track. Note crookedness of ties, however, and there isn't much ballast, and the rails are still the now 110-year old 60# rail that's been there since the beginning. S&S stored a bunch of covered hoppers a couple dozen miles south of Shafter in the 2011/2012 time period, then those left, and there's been nothing shoved south of Shafter since. There are, however, somewhere in the neighborhood of 40-50 tank cars and a few covered hoppers on the mainline and a few of the yard tracks in Shafter at the moment, they've been there for about a year now. Brush is starting to overgrow the rails on the line south of Shafter, and there's been no work whatsoever south of Currie and probably won't be until they can get the state of Nevada to put the Highway 93 grade crossing back in service. As of last April the museum was actively looking for funding opportunities to try to get the entire mainline restored to operation...it's going to be a large undertaking.
