The Old Rails Club has been meeting since 1953 in Oakland at the Sons Of Norway, Bjornson Hall. Its membership is open to all crafts and every Railroad. It is a charitable organization promoting camaraderie and fellowship among railroaders and the occasional fan, any money donated can be claimed as a deduction on your income taxes. Due to declining retirement in the railroad industry the club has entered some financial straights. The membership is trying to generate some cash flow by holding a silent auction at its May meeting. For those who have moved away and are unable to attend and participate in the auction, but, would like to contribute to the club to sustain this unique fraternity you can send money in the form of a check made out to: Old Rails Club and mail to Mr. Bill Cotton, 1310 Strathmore Court, Concord, CA 94518-3937. For those who would like to contribute items to the auction you may mail any railroad paraphernalia to: Catherine von Ibsch, 2309 Thackeray Dr. Oakland, CA 94611-2439. You may also bring such items to the Home Town Buffet in Concord on Diamond Avenue between Willow Pass Road and Concord Blvd off of I-680 tomorrow, February 23rd at 12:30pm.

For those who would like to attended the silent auction it will be held May 10, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Bjornson Hall, 2258 Mac Arthur Blvd. Oakland California. There is a cover charge of $5.00 at the door. Silent auction bidding will be from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Winners must be present to purchase your items and please note that this is cash only event.
