Got to thinking today, I wonder if the SW1500 should be ranked in the top 10 of US-made locomotives of all time? It was a great locomotive: useful in the yard, on branch lines, and even the mainline. A true road switcher. It had good visibility and crews liked them. Railroads liked them, too, and bought many. The SW1500 also has a high re-sale value today.
