Interesting item about the Expo Line (LA LRT) extension opening soon, with a schedule time of 46 minutes from downtown LA (7th St./Metrocenter station) to Santa Monica.
Did a little searching (too much trouble to dig out my old Red Cars book right now) for PE schedules. Found these:
*
LA downtown to Santa Monica via Sawtelle: 64 minutes in 1911; 60 minutes for limiteds in the 1930s. Service ended 1950.
* LA downtown to Santa Monica to Inglewood (Air Line):
ERHA listing has no timings, just headways. Service ended 1953.

Wikipedia and Abandoned Rails; neither have schedule information.
The Air Line is more or less the route of the current Expo line, soon to open to Santa Monica. So the service that ended in 1953 is about to be restored. Too bad I can't find any running times for PE - might be interesting to compare to Metro. Understanding of course that the modern line is a tad shorter and has an easier route (subway) out of downtown LA than PE had (mostly surface running in street traffic). OTOH, traffic probably wasn't as congested in the 1920s-40s. Anyway, good news.
