Re: New Gen-Set spotted at Roseville hump

The locomotive is UPY 896, the first of four Railpower RP20CD six axle genset locomotives. The other three, UPY 897-899, are at UP's Proviso yard in Chicago, but will be coming west at some point. 897-898 have been there over a month. I'm surprised they haven't moved yet. 899 just got there ten days ago.

Only the center two windows are blanked on these models, in deference to the fact that they will be running by remote a lot. I don't know if the windows are in place but covered by paint or decals, or if there is only a metal plate in the window frame. I haven't seen the inside of the cab of any of them to be able to tell you.
