Dick,
I worked a goat every once and a while at the east end of Brooklyn yard and got stuck on the midnight goat for 30 days in the early 90s.
We had to switch the dairy and a few other outfits down the hill to the steel bridge. I remember having to switch a cement plant and to leave and pick up cars at your interchange at least I thought it was yours. You had a bunch of passenger equipment stored there, it looked like a complete consist. Oh, and that little short baggage car that was to made into a steam jenny and Bob Melbo was the Superintendent on the SP at the time.
Did you every get any of that business or did the UP keep it?
Also the time we moved a car up the hill to Brooklyn where other items were stored or could be worked on. It had brass journals, no brakes, cast wheels, you name it. Had to chain the drawbars together to keep the knuckles from passing. Just another day.
Met you once at Shady Dell when I was there running my 2-6-0 Mogal, many moons ago. Glad to see you made a success of your endeavors and another 25 years to look forward to.
