Hi Rich...yes, in March of '99. It was a good place to work, but the commute kept getting worse and I was no fan of nite shifts! I look back now & wonder how I did almost 30 years of rotating shifts.
GCR was a really great outfit to work for...training and instruction were very professional. I liked all the people that I worked with and stay in touch with some of them. Of all the dozens of steam locomotives that I have been around, theirs were the most steam tight and best maintained.
Plan to stop by there next month on my way to Chama to see (and hopefully ride behind) the 315.
