Do you realize that there was an Interlocking Tower on the second floor (a US&S pneumatic machine) and that the "SN"
controlled signals and such all the way over to 41st & Piedmont on the other side of Broadway ? The Ticket Office was on the first floor.
Interlocking limits extended from Webster Street to 41st St & Piedmont Avenue. When on the tracks of the Key System, the KEY was in control ! Now you know !
After the consolidation of December 31, 1928 between the Sacramento Northern Railway and the San Francisco-Sacramento Railroad (the "Shortline"), ALL SN train dispatching was done from the Sacramento Northern Union Station on 'H' street between 11th & 12th Streets in Sacramento.
Cheers.
