So does SMART have a liquor license? Booze on a public conveyance? And nothing can go wrong with this ...
OTOH, our club buses to Rohnert Park (partially subsidized by GGT for commute service to places where a regular route made no sense) had a bus captain who had a cooler on Friday afternoons with suitable beverages. The bus would sometimes deviate from the route to stop at somebody's house so they could be rolled up their driveway ... I finished by San Rafael with only one (weak one) so I could sleep it off for the 2 hours it normally took on Fridays to get from there to Wilfred, where I jumped into my car for the rest of the way home. Those were the days ...
And yes, those were the days of three-dot journalism ... the last days of Herb Caen and Art Hoppe.
