From Kevin Jeffers of WSDOT:

Sound Transit has paid for the track south of Royal Brougham. The work on Royal Brougham and north will be paid for by a combination of Sound Transit and WSDOT funds.

(This reporter has been watching King Street switching crews obtaining dispatcher permission to cross back and forth between the station and the yard since 1945. The crossover had a swichman, a shack, a telephone, and responsibility for four turnouts.)
