Josiah's list is real good. Here are a few extra comments....
- Southbound Repos (autos and Wells) are pretty variable, but currently seems to be several per week, mostly autos, though an occasional baretables train.
- Southbound Cans are symboled OWPDO. This time of year you have a chance to seeing them in daylight north of Santa Marg, but they typically run at night. The SLO helpers (HSQSQ) will run north from SLO to Santa Marg to help them over Cuesta.
- The Santa Margarita Turn runs on Wed and Sat. On Sat they go on duty around noon at Watsonville Jct. and head as far south as Paso Robles typically. They can get into Paso as early as 1500 or well after dark, depending on how much other work they have, and what other delays they run into. The Wed version typically goes on duty a bit later and will typically only run as far south as San Lucas. The Sat version uses the symbol LRQ53S while the Wed version will use the symbol LRQ81.
- The Guad Turn runs as the LOF67 on the northbound runs and the LOF66 on the southbound runs. The northbound runs are usually good for light up to Santa Barbara to Gaviota this time of year, with an arrival into Guadalupe well after dark. The southbound runs will typically depart Guadalupe after amtrak 14 has passed through around 1400-1500.
For a general list of whats running on the coast line I keep a page on my website with that info. It may be a little outa date, but should not be toooooooo bad. It can be found here:
