Joe Strapac's 2 volume series of books Southern Pacific Diesel Locomotive Compendium, published by his Shade Tree Books, has the dispositions of all Espee diesels through 2007. Volume 1 includes diesels up through the 1965 re-numbering, while the post-1965 volume 2 deals with the later rebuilds, and dispositions of all Espee diesels, rebuilt or otherwise, through 2007. In the past, Joe has also issued updates on the current whereabouts of ex - Espee diesels.
