Why retire the current Acela?

"Current fleet retired, by the end of 2022".... What a waste! I am pro-new order of Avelia Liberty Alstom equipment, but WHY not reassign these sets to other services? Can the Acela Express coaches be pulled by Siemens ACS-64's?

Or any other use? Like 110mph service on the Keystone? The Acela is more efficient than an AEM-7 and Amfleets, also better service for passengers... Why not retire the Amfleets instead?
