Good! She looks great just the way she is right now.
I guess I am about the only person who really LIKES
the MH 89's current colors. The pale blue and yellow
and pink paint scheme somehow seems, at least to me,
to be rather attractive. And I like her low nose, even though
I almost always much prefer high noses on Geeps.

Howard ---
I love your photographs. You really do have an artist's eye.
And I, too, really appreciate your including people in your
pictures, because trains are run by and for people. Without
people, there would be no need for any trains.

I, too, miss your photo essays on the now-gone West Coast
Rail Forums. It is really, really too bad that its database was
not saved.

About the sand at Bonny Doon ---
There may be a way to construct a low hill just west of
the tracks, planted with native plants, that would hold
the sand in place and prevent sand from blowing onto the
tracks -- but doing that would probably cost far too much for
a line the SC&MB does not use at this time. There is really
no reason thus far for the SC&MB to do anything to maintain
this trackage. I do hope that they can run a dinner train on
this branch some day, and make a success of that. Then, and
only then, would it make economic sense for them to spend any
money to keep the sand off the tracks there.

Long live the MH 89 -- in her present colors!
[She runs and hides! :) ]

Margaret
Hey -- if you must repaint her, please put her back in her 1959
as-delivered look and paint -- as the MILW 306, high nose and all:

But I much prefer her just the way she is right now, low nose, and
pastel blue and yellow and pink. She is unique, and I love her as she is.. :)
