I'm not that confident it will pass....many cities against it in Southeast and Southwest, due to dominance of CLA projects that bumped some of their much better performing projects back in the "wish" list, some by up to 20 years.

This needs a two thirds vote to become law. But, has also been criticized also because it levy's a "perpetual" sales tax, which has raised concerns and eyebrows, about giving a notoriously politicized and City of LA dominated agency that much taxing authority, to rob other 60% of the taxpayers, to pay for an interesting list of costly City of LA projects.

John Fasana and the San Gabriel Valley Cities cut a deal on the last measure for the GL to Azusa, now they've cut a deal on the next phase, and provided political muscle to push it through, and has been well rewarded. He's doing his job, and many of the cities who are against the measure were disorganized and late to the game. He's done his job for his constituents, and cities.

Many of these cities are also facing a hot housing market in the LA core, including the SGV, so this pressure was there already, these generate short term city revenue streams from permitting, and a lot of these are looking at reusing what had been low tax based light industrial areas near these stations..

Unfortunately, for those who expect this TOD to reduce traffic that's an illusion that some dreamy eyed idealist's and some schemey eyed developers like to peddle to the gullible City Council and neighbors, to get the projects approved, In fact, they are building projects that will generate one of two extra transit trips per household per day, with maybe one or two substitute walking trips per household per day, but will still generate 6-12 auto trips per household per day, occupied by folks with incomes who will still own an average of 2.2 autos per household.

We are professionals, do not try this at home.......
