Judge rules in favor of Union Pacific in injury suit
CHEYENNE – A federal judge here recently decided in favor of Union Pacific Railroad in a civil lawsuit, ruling that a manager at the railroad’s Steam Locomotive Shop in Cheyenne did not cause an employee injury.
Henry Krening’s personal injury lawsuit filed almost three years ago said his work environment under senior manager of steam operations Edgar Dickens became so intolerably hostile that he felt forced to take a medical leave of absence.
Less than a month before the case was set to go to trial, U.S. District Judge Alan Johnson recently signed an order granting the railroad’s request for a summary judgment in the company’s favor.
UP filed a motion for summary judgment in May of this year.
Requests for summary judgment can be granted if the court determines there are no disputable facts that need to be presented to a jury.
