Where does the NWP fit into these CEO's reigns? I gather that around at the time of the Island Moutain tunnel fire the SP wanted to get rid of the NWP and proposed to abandon the line north instead of reopen tunnel. Was the NWP's eventual sale around '84 affected in any way by the various CEOs during this period, or was it just a no-brainer that NWP had to go, given the high cost of keeping line open and the inroads trucking had made into NWP's customer base after the tunnel fire?
