It's quite interesting that the Mt. Hood Railroad got money to restore a stretch of flood-damaged track (from several years ago) through ConnectOregon...yet there hasn't been freight traffic on the line in decades, there is little to no prospect for freight traffic, and there really isn't an intermodal connection in Parkdale save for walking to the local restaurants for the 90 minute layover before returning to Hood River.

And during this time, the MH was actually sold to a new owner.

CORP really bungled the public relations aspect of the Coos Bay Line, but the State has their priorities messed up as well. "We won't subsidize the CORP" but Portland & Western came out like bandits getting improvements left and right, and the MH got a questionable "intermodal" grant.
