The LA Times can be good cat box liner, and this story seems like a candidate as a good example.... There are some kernels of truth, and lots of doom and gloom, which appears to be rhetorically rich, but factually "lite"...... Cheap shipping rates from over capacity is not a harbinger of the end of trade, it is a harbingers of cheaper shipping rates, though. But, actual trade data shows that the sky is probably not falling, and the end times are probably not upon us......unless we do something really stupid to affect the trade situation.
The RR's will probably move what they are paid to move. Christmas is coming and incomes in some regions are finally "rising" ever so slightly, employment is stable and even growing a little in some sectors, and Walmart is still stocking their shelves.......so the choo-choo's will probably keep on rolling.
EGBOK.....
