It was a number of years ago but I saw a picture of one of their diesels sitting on the main, way above Mt. Shasta past the old tank. The unit had derailed and was left where it hit the ties. The picture I saw showed the engine missing a lot of parts and someone mentioned that most of the copper wiring was gone out of it and a lot of the other parts.

Maybe its still sitting there?
Anyone?

I know when the SP leased the units they gave them back in very bad shape. Then they tried to use them on the Siskiyou line as helpers in order to keep an eye on them but by then they couldn't get out of their own way or wouldn't stay running. McCloud really got screwed on that deal.
