Bridge Collapse

KWQC in the Quad Cities is reporting a RR bridge collapse in Columbus Jct,IA. where the Iowa and Cedar riverscome together. It has been raining all night in that area. The bridge collapsed while a locomotive with five cars was crossing.
The bridge in question is an old Rock Island bridge on that portion ofa small spur that services the Tyson food plant. At one time this RR line was part of the CRI&P system and is now served by the IC&E RR.
KWQC is also reporting that the locomotive went into the river with the Engineer trapped for some time. The Engineer was rescued by the Columbus Jct Fire/Rescue and has been transported to the UofI facilities in Iowa City.
The northern Missouri and souther Iowa areas have recieved almost 6.6 inches of rain over night in some areas accroding to the Weather channel.
