I don't know if this is case of NIMBY. It's neighbors disputing what neighbors do. Nothing public or for common good here which is what nimby's are generally against. Just a few homeowners arguing amongst themselves.

If this guy has the garage going throughout the day and the evening, with the door open, light and music pouring out, people chatting and air-powered tools clattering that would get awfully annoying. Especially if the neighbors used to enjoy quiet and privacy before. Sounds like they have a private drive so it sounds like these folks might think a degree of privacy came with their house. But when you have your neighbor out front all day and night, and his friends coming over all the time and hanging out, it gets to feeling sort of less nice.

But when it comes down to it, feel kind of like the time to stop this sort of thing is when its in the planning stages. Once its built, I mean, what can you do? Have to go to court and give money to the lawyers.

You could move but if you do don't tell the buyers about the dude with the garage next door!
