BN caboose when new

Coupleof thoughts on this pic:

1. What does the "P" stand for? BN cabooses always had them when I railfanned in the 80's.

2. Has anyone restored a BN caboose to perfection -- with all the lettering, paint and details exactly right -- so that it looks like this one? That would be too cool.
