I just finished reading your book. It was one of those volumes that you did not want to hurry through; first because the story and the story telling were of a quality that made you not want to reach the end, and secondly because it is not a “happily-ever-after’ ending. It is now on my California Railroad bookshelf where it belongs, between Hanft and Signor. I suspect that it will be drawn out in the future whenever my travels take me to that part of Northern California.

You did a great job chronicling the railroad and the local history as well as providing a fitting tribute to a line that we all will miss. Thank you for undertaking this work.
