While working at a huge aerospace company next to the western end of the Green Line for several years, I knew a number of people who commuted every day from South Orange County in horrible traffic on the 405. They seriously wished for the eastern end of the GL to connect with Metrolink so they could ride to work.

I too am amazed that closing this gap isn't high priority. The residential areas in the way must be a big factor. Long tunnels wouldn't be so cheap.
