No need to give President-Elect Trump the benefit of the doubt. He's already confirmed that how he campaigned is how he will govern. We've seen the tweets. We watched him say on 60 Minutes that while marriage equality is settled law and won't be overturned, abortion issue is not settled and should be overturned, if he had his way.
He spends the campaign benefiting bigly from Russian-hacked e-mails being leaked by Wikileaks. In the second debate he offhandedly disregards the opinion of our intelligence community, from which he had special briefings, and said defended Russia, says the hacks could have come from anyone anywhere and nobody knows.
And now he has had a "great, huge" phone call with Putin a week after winning the election, pledging closer relationship with Ivan. Who cares about Russian meddling in our electoral process. Who cares about Russia's annexation of the Crimea.
It's not a surprising disgrace. It's the disgrace we should have expected and should expect going forward.
